    Description

    Confederate Document dated July 31,1862 signed by Lt. Col. John Camden Shields. Captain of the First Company of the Richmond Howitzers, later promoted to Lt Col in charge of Camp Lee,training facility for the Confederate Artillery.
    Condition is Used. There is some minor wear on the folds, browned with age but in total it is in very good condition
    .
    The form is a descriptive list and account of pay and clothing for Private J.G. Crouch, a sapper and miner. There are several notations on various dates by Captain J. C. Maynard to authorize payments. Unfolded it measures  18 X 11
    On the reverse it is signed by Lt.Col. James C Shields and a Captain J.C. Maynard, It is tri folded to 4 X 9
